This morning was weird. No children were at home. Ever since we bought this home on the lake we have been surrounded by girls, but this morning all the girls were at camp. The four adults sat around drinking coffee and talking adult talk. It was certainly unusual. But shortly after lunch, people began appearing. First Reed, come from the day from San Antonio. Next Samantha and Allison, followed by Abigail and a friend and finally Sarah with two friends. We went from no girls to 7. And wonderful girls they all were.
Our afternoon was lazy. 4 girls and Suzanne went on the boat with friends, the twins and a friend took a monster nap while David, Reed and I sat on the deck talking. It was all easy and relaxing. Ken came and went to the deck. Cheese and crackers ended the afternoon prior to a dinner organized by Suzanne. Strawberry shortcake ended our delicious dinner. After Reed left, all the girls and adults sat in the living room talking. The conversation was delightful, especially for oldsters such as us. A day at the lake is a delight and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Nothing was fancy or profound but I believe everyone from young to old benefitted by this day, this day at Canyon Lake.
