Today we ate lunch at Lane's Privateer Inn, the first of many social events we will attend in Nova Scotia. We are fortunate to have our best friends within walking distance of each other. Also we have several local friends. We tend to entertain each others company and invite our Liverpool friends to our events too. For sure, we have a more active social calendar in Liverpool than we do in any other place.
Today our friends from Western Head met for lunch at Lane's, the first time we have seen each other since last fall. The occasion was joyous as we have survived and thrived the whole year. In the past, we always entertained in each others homes but now we mainly eat in restaurants. For Ken, eating lunch out is easier than at dinner. Also we like to patronize Lane's and want them to stay in business. Their food is always good and sometimes it even gets to excellent. Their seafood chowder is the best in town. We like to go regularly.
Twice Mary and Walt came to saw hello to us but Ken and I were both upstairs so we did not hear them. Finally this afternoon on the third time we sat and chatted with them. Walt looks great. He has stopped dialysis totally and he feels good. Of course he is thin but he has come a long way in the past year. I was delighted to see them both.
So now here we go. Dave and Irene arrive on Sunday and will stay in the Guest House. Our social life in Western Head has begun. Let the good times roll.
