I am fortunate with my friends. Marilyn and Richard are visiting us and we are having a good old time. Believe it or not, this is the first time they have ever visited Mexico. But as they have noted, this place is more like a resort than the real Mexico, which is true, but it is in Mexico. It is not make believe.
It is fun seeing the place through new eyes. It was wonderful eating lunch at the restaurant down by the beach. The food is different enough to know you are in a different country but ordinary enough to eat it with pleasure. During the rest of the afternoon they read on the balcony. The best part for them was hearing the sound of the sea. And of course, we watched the sunset.
Marilyn has been friends since the days of living in Galveston, which must be over 45 years. And Richard came on the horse back riding trip in Alberta 15 years ago. We have always kept in touch with each other. Now we all four reap the benefits of those connections. I feel blessed and all it took was a bit of care over the years. Life is simple when you look after the details!!
