Just when you think your teeth problems are over, along come the wisdom teeth, and the dentist tells you the bad news. These so called wisdom teeth must be removed. It is so irritating because you feel nothing in your mouth and nothing is hurting. Evidently, it all comes from having a small mouth. It seems so unfair. Ken never had wisdom teeth removed, nor did Christina. But both Andrew and I had them out. Now it is Kate's turn.
We were all surprised to find that Kate's teeth were all straight so she had no need for braces. But now her wisdom teeth came out today, all five of them. The dentist told Christina that if they did not come out, her teeth would no longer be straight, so out they came. First thing this morning was the surgery. She spent the rest of the day sleeping and resting and drinking protein drinks and milkshakes, all the while wearing a contraption the holds ice close to her jaw. This evening she came out to watch a bit of basketball with us so we were pleased to see that she was walking and talking. In a few days she will be fit as a fiddle but in the meantime, she will lay low. Soon she will barely remember the whole procedure. It is another part of growing up that is good to have behind you. Cheers to Kate.
