August 18, 2017. Western Head, Nova Scotia. No Storm At All.

Isaac reports that surfers have come from far and wide, hoping to have big surf.  The forecasts have been for 6 foot waves.  The storms way out at sea were supposed to send us lots of big waves and winds.  Yesterday we had a few hours of high wind but when we arrived home expecting to see big surf all we could see was flat water.  It looked as if we lived by a lake.

Alice Anne was also hoping for a big storm to be able to see what high waves look like on the bold Atlantic Ocean.  She knows all about storms on the Gulf of Mexico in Galveston.  We were all set to see the waves crashing over the rocks at Western Head lighthouse.  It is quite a sight.  But not much to see without the big waves.

This summer, the ocean has been calm and quiet.  Only one day have the surfers gotten in the water.   For the last three days, the forecasters have been promising storms but every morning we wake up to flat water.    You could be fooled into knowing that the Atlantic is always calm.   We know better.  But for now, the surfers are disappointed and so are we.  We got no storm at all.
