We have not seen them since last August so tonight we had to catch up on the whole year of activities. They came for dinner which for me is easy. All I must do is to set the table and fill the water glasses, then put the food in the oven at the appropriate time. I never know what the caterer will cook, even for guests, but I assume that our guests are here to visit, not because of our fine dining.
Jan and Larry live in Ottawa and they love to travel. This Fall they will spend time in England, then Italy. They also love fine wines so they will have a wonderful trip. They have renovated a big old home in Liverpool, which is gorgeous. I once spilled a glass of red wine on a white chair. Fortunately, it was slip covered. Even after that disaster we are still good friends.
After dinner and our conversation in the living room, Jan and Larry insisted on cleaning up the kitchen. When they left, the dish washer was running and the table was clear. They really are good friends indeed.
