March 4, 2010. Mexico. Gump Shrimp.

Joyce found this restaurant when reading the telephone book and as Robbie and Joyce like to eat fried shrimp they wanted to go for lunch when we were in Puerto Vallarta. The advertisement in the telephone book listed many types of shrimp which would satisfy all four of us. Ken and I like boiled shrimp which we learned to like when living in Galveston. After our visit to the Museum, we walked along the Malecon enjoying the sculptures and eventually found Gump Shrimp.

The food was good but the restaurant was noisy. Lord preserve me from eating in noisy restaurants. It was fun and we even recalled all the types of shrimp outlined in the movie, prompted of course by the writing on the table. It must be a franchise, as someone told Joyce thy had visited one in Chicago. Ken ate my leftover lunch for dinner tonight.

While wandering toward the restaurant, we spotted a Naval Museum, so of course, in we went and toured the small place. Once again I had walked past the place many times but missed going in. Lots of pictures, lots of explanations all in Spanish, lots of guns both old and new, and many model ships. But the best part were the two officers on duty, dressed in spotless white uniforms and hat. They were women and very short and lo0ked like miniature officers, but they were official and they were delighted to have us tour their museum. But three different times they had to tell me to take my hands off the cases!! Apparently I am a slower learner or perhaps it was their size.
