February 17, 2011. Vallarta Pallace, Mexico. A Day.

A really don't know if  it is good for you or not, but certainly it is pleasant.   We  awake at eight and Ken makes coffee in the room.   I have my first cup of coffee while reading in bed.  Sometime around ten we go down for breakfast, usually eating at the restaurant right by the beach overlooking the ocean.  Next we wander the grounds, admiring the foliage.    By then, most people have taken up their stations on lounge chairs, in full sun either by the pool or on the beach, reading.   I do not know how they stay put like that all day.  We return to our room, actually two rooms, one bedroom and one sitting and dining room, where we read or work on the computer.

Today we have no appointments or trips, so the full day is open to us.   We will begin to take belongings back to our own Playa Royale,  have lunch around two or three,  sit by the beach and swim after lunch and read the rest of the day.    Television is turned on prior to going to dinner at seven-thirty or eight to find out how the world is turning out.   Then we take in the evening entertainment in the amphitheater by the sea.  Without computers and Kindles we would be hard pressed to be happy, but to our great surprise, we are enjoying ourselves and enjoying each other.  It's a very nice surprise, discovering that we can do nothing.
