February 19, 2011. Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The Last Night.

On our last evening at The Vallarta Palace,  we discovered something new.   Fancy coffee was served in the bar every evening from 5 to 6.  In addition, they prepared desert crepes, to go with the fancy coffee.   We had missed it every evening.  But we enjoyed them last evening.

The outside bar sits overlooking the pools, the beach and the Pacific Ocean, so it is a favorite place to have a drink and watch the sun set.   It is a gorgeous location.  Early on in our two week stay we enjoyed sitting and enjoying the scenery but latterly, we lost interest.   Yesterday afternoon, after trundling some of our clothes over to our locker at Playa Royale, we stopped for a drink.  First we had a cocktail, then a glass of wine, all the while trying to work out the disposition of our stuff from the apartment.  Then I discovered the coffee and crepes, which we enjoyed, all the while discussing the future of  our silver and crystal and dishes and books.  After yet another glass of wine, we left just in time to watch the sunset from our own room.  We had been sitting there almost three hours.

It was very productive.  I had thought about options, but the two of us had never discussed them.   Now, thanks to the food and wine and location, we were in the decision mode.  Unfortunately, I did not write it down!!
