February 21, 2011. Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. President's Day.

No holiday, here in Mexico, but Gill is here because of the week off from the University, so we are celebrating the Holiday anyway.  So far, our activities have not been strenuous but they certainly have been pleasant.

It is interesting to see the place through another set of eyes, especially someone who is so appreciative.  Gill loves the lush foliage  and the blossoms.  She is enjoying the warmth of the sun.  Right now she is sitting reading on the deck, in the full sun.  This morning we took a trolley ride, to let her see an overview of the place.  In fact we took one and a half trolley rides, first seeing the whole trip,  then returning to the other side of the marina for a walk and then lunch.

Lunch was wonderful, at The Porto Bella restaurant right alongside the canal.  The Iguanas were out sunning themselves or putting on a show for us.  Also a six foot long daddy.   Excellent food, good company, right price.  Gill paid.

At six, we visit our neighbors Margaret and David for a drink.  Their daughter and son-in-law, who we have met before, are visiting, along with their children, so as they must leave Wednesday, we are getting to see them now.  They are good neighbors and we like them.  Unfortunately they live in Kimberley, B.C. and only over lap a bit in Mexico.

So, a lovely day, right from the beginning to the end.
