February 22, 2013. Nuevo Vallarta. Mexico Food.

Our system for food has worked quite well this season.  Ken suggested it and I agreed,  Much to our surprise, it has worked.  But only if you wanted to lose weight.  Don  lost ten pounds when he visited us here in Mexico and Doreen lost five pounds.   Gill has just gone home but she survived our system and in fact enjoyed our system for food.   "It was very easy", she said.

Our system is very simple.  We have very little food in the house.  The freezer is empty.  The fridge has only a few items  on the shelves.   We keep milk,  bread,  yogurt,  cheese, fruit and coffee in the refrigerator. In the pantry we keep cereal,  crackers,  peanut butter and tea.  And that is all.

Our system is to eat breakfast at home.   We eat out once a day, generally for a late lunch, thus making our biggest meal mid day.  In the evening, we just snack and each person gets their own food.  It has been fun and it has been easy.  And we have all lost weight.   I am really surprised that I could keep myself from taking a taxi to the Mega store to stock up on food.  It is certainly a first.  It remains to be seen about subsequent years.
