Sometimes our behavior is ridiculous. For example, Don and Doreen came up to join us for a late lunch. It was my suggestion to take the free trolley across the canal, to walk along the shore and then find a place for lunch. We walked to the bench to wait for the trolley, but the trolley did not come. When we first left our condo, we asked the gate keeper whether or not he had seen the trolley that morning. He assured us YES. So we waited. Then we asked a taxi driver and he said NO. But we still waited.
Here is the crazy part. For $3.50, we could take a taxi over to the other side of the canal, but we are all too cheap. We wanted the free trolley. After 35 minutes of waiting, we concede defeat, but we do not pay for a taxi. No. We wait for our free shuttle to pass by and we hail Victor, the driver, to pick us up and take us to the golf club for lunch. So we enjoyed a delighted lunch, overlooking the 18th green and we did not spend a dime getting there. Of course, our lunch cost $75. We are so irrational it is funny. And of course, we tipped Victor $2.00.
