March 9, 2016. Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The Storm.

The wind started blowing yesterday afternoon.  When Doreen and I watched the sunset, we spotted a little sail boat having an interesting ride.  Night was coming and the sailboat was still heading north.  Eventually, he came about and tried to head for the marina but before he could get home, he needed to tack south west which he was doing.  This morning, we wondered when he got home.   The sight of that tiny boat bouncing around in the big waves and in the high wind was spectacular....and scary.

The storm kept getting worse.  All night we could hear balcony furniture moving,  both on our balcony and on the balcony above.  The noise woke you up.  This morning I was pleased to see that although all the furniture had been  re-arranged,  everything was intact and on the balcony.  No furniture had fallen over.

This evening we had an honest to goodness thunder storm, with lightning out at sea and thunder all around.  And lots and lots of rain.  Right now, the wind is blowing again but so far, all furniture has stayed in place.  Storms by the sea are always exciting, especially when the electricity does not go out.  The forecast for tomorrow is for fair weather with no rain or storms, which should keep everyone happy.  People come here for fair weather, not rain and wind.  I on the other hand, kind of enjoy the storms.
