May 7, 2012. Jackson, Mississippi. Goslings.

Every day the goslings are a bit bigger and a bit darker.  Every day we observe them as they walk along the edge of the reservoir, eating all the way, with both parents watching every step of the way.  Both geese attend the goslings all the time, never letting them out of their sight.  If a person or another goose gets too close to the goslings, the parents either move them away or go after the other goose or ducks.  It must be why there are still six goslings left.  Many creatures would like to eat those little tasty goslings.  These two geese parents show  exemplary behavior.

I could not  fathom human mothers leaving their children to be raised by others and breaking up the home.   The wild animals show a better example than the humans.  Amazing but true.
