Today was driving day. Both Kate and Mary Frances drove the gator today, round and round the circle at the farm, while Ken and I sat by the fire. Neither girl would drive with the other so it was first Kate getting a refresher from me and then Mary Frances being schooled by Ken. The girls did well. It has been a several years since they drove the gator or the mule.
This afternoon, the girls went searching for creatures at the creek. They found two crawdads but no salamanders. They did return to the farm house soaking wet with even their boots full of water. Fortunately they found clothes on the dining table. Kate wore a pair of Christina's jeans, which fit perfectly, while Mary Frances wore a pair of Ken's fleece pants and rubber shoes.
After the driving sessions, Mary Frances commented that it was a good thing it was a few years until she was 16 and driving, as she thinks she will need the practice. Both Ken and I thought they did well. By the time we all leave at the end of June they will be almost professionals!!
