October 26, 2017. San Antonio, Texas. The Playoffs.

This playoff season of baseball has been splendid.  The series have been excellent with good teams playing other good teams.  For the most part, the games were what I like, with lots of runs and hitting and fine defensive plays.  And the Astros are in the World Series.  Much earlier in the year I watched the Astros play the Blue Jays and was impressed by what I had seen, so I picked the Astros and the Dodgers to play in the World Series.  And they are.  Many friends in DC were hoping for the Nationals to advance in the playoffs, but I had no faith.

Owning a baseball team must be difficult.  Two managers whose teams did well this year have been fired.  The Yankees advanced further than anyone thought they would, getting one win away from being in the World Series yet the Manager was fired.  And Dusty Baker, the Nationals has also been let go.  Now we will see if the teams do better next season with a new manager.  It is a cut throat business.

The game last night was as good a baseball game as you would ever want to see.  It had everything hanging by a thread until the end of the last out, which was the 11th inning.  And the good guys won. Now the series is tied 1 to 1 and the next three games will be in Houston.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening we will be glued to the TV.  Fortunately, David and the twins enjoy watching baseball so we will enjoy the excellent play.   Suzanne watches with us while Ken comes and goes.  We all expect the good guys of Houston will prevail although you can not count the Dodgers out.  They too are a fine team.  No matter what, we will enjoy the games.  I love watching baseball, especially during the World Series.
