October 30, 2017. Madison, Mississippi. A Welcome Home.

The house greeted us regally this afternoon.  The fridge was full of all essentials, thanks to Christina and the house was as bright and sparkling as usual.  We were delighted to be home.  I am not sure why, but this home seems more at home than anywhere, perhaps because our old walnut china cabinet and hutch dominates the dining room.  And in the entrance hall stands a small cherry chest that has been in our homes for over 40 years.  Anyway, the house welcomed us home, even though no one was here to greet us.

Our trip from Texas was uneventful.  Suzanne prepared a bowel of yogurt and strawberries to get me started and David dropped us off at the airport at 8:00 for our 10:00 flight.  After a 2 hour layover in Houston and a taxi ride home, our day was done.  Finally.  Two short flights but it took us all day.  We arrived home at 4:00.

Even Houston was efficient with the wheelchair escorts.  These good folks treat us well and I return the favor from my stack of small bills.  They allow us to fly and for that I am grateful.  So here we are.   We will enjoy.
