July 26, 2019. Western Head, Nova Scotia. Two Ruths Go To Town.

Our day in downtown Liverpool was splendid. Our day in town started by parking the truck in the parking lot where we were sure to be able to leave without backing up. That truck is big. Our lunch at Memories was big but delicious. Then we walked the whole Main Street, entering every store, not to buy but just to see what they were selling. I bought a type of housecoat at the consignment store. We discovered several new shops. Why this little town needs two new coffee shops is beyond me, but we have them. The Plaid Cat has closed but another store opened in the middle of town selling the same type of stuff, which is good. Ruth R. bought two pair of shoes in the gift shop adjacent to the drug store. I might go back and buy a pair too. The Five Girls Bakery has wonderful pastries. We sat drinking tea and eating a sweet, a cinnamon bun for Ruth R. and a croissant for Ruth D. We sat outside on the sidewalk and watched the cars drive by. On the way to the car, my Tevas fell apart≥. Not good and not easy walking with half of the sole flapping in the breeze. We ate so much at lunch and our pastries that we could not eat the dinner delivered by Stewart. We will eat it for lunch tomorrow. Instead we ate left over salad from last evenings dinner. We had a splendid day in town. And we were home by 3:45. There are advantages to living in a small town.
