July 5, 2019. Western Head, Nova Scotia. A Shopping Spree.

In our little town is a lovely woman's clothing store, owned and run by Sandra. Her job before she and her husband retired to Liverpool was helping rich and/or famous people buy clothes. These folks needed to look good every day so she helped them shop. Her husband, who is an artist, was ready to leave the fast track of Toronto so they moved here and Sandra opened a small shop. When she first opened I said that she would not survive here. But I was wrong. This is her fifth year and she is doing well. For Christmas I gave Christina a shopping spree at Sandra's shop, Lilith. I was twisting Christina's arm so she would come to Nova Scotia and visit with me. So they came and on Tuesday we went shopping at Lilith. We had a great time. Kate, Mary Frances and Molly came to help. The girls go through the shop and find objects for Christina to try on. Sandra did too. Christina tried on a lot of clothes. Her drill was to put on a piece of clothing, then come out so we could all pass judgement. Much to our surprise, she was able to find several pieces that looked good. Next she selected the ones she really wanted. She left with 2 pair of pants, two jackets and four tops. Christina seldom induces herself so I was pleased for her. And of course, she will look great. The girls were so helpful that I suggested as a souvenir they select one object to take home. They were thrilled. Kate selected a soft fitted jacket that Sandra suggested. Mary Frances chose a pair of pants with funky pockets, which look great on her. Molly was having trouble finding anything for her. It is a ladies shop and she is 11. But Sandra found a sweet white top, that looked terrific on her. We left the store with smiles all around. My Christmas gift was a hit.
