February 2, 2020. Playa Royale, Mexico. The Super Bowl.

This afternoon, Rita discovered that a Canadian from Montreal was playing in the Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs. Immediately we all five decided to cheer for Kansas City. Also she discovered that the same gentleman was the first MD playing in the Super Bowl. He attended college at McGill and played football for four years. By taking summer classes and extra hours through the year, he graduated and then attended medical school, also at McGill. He completed his Medical training during the off season. He was drafted by the NFL in the sixth round five years ago, which made him the 200th player selected. He plays as an offensive lineman. At 6'6'' and 310 pounds he must be an impressive individual. Since being drafted, he has always played in the NFL. He is also only the 3rd Canadian player to play in the Super Bowl. We five had our own Super Bowl party. We ordered pizza which was delivered. It was delicious with a very thin crust. And we have enough left over for breakfast. During the half time, we ate ice cream, which Rita bought at the market this afternoon. For quite a long time we thought our team was going down to defeat but they pulled it out and Kansas City won the Super Bowl. None of our five cared who won the game because we had no skin in the game. But we latched onto our Canadian Doctor, and we stuck with our new team and were steady right to the end, which was exciting. Hats off to the Kansas City team, who last won the Super Bowl 50 years ago. It was worth the wait.
