February 12, 2022. Playa Royale, Nuevo Vallarta. Johnny Cash Impersonator.

We five returned to Ciao this evening. We ate dinner last week and discovered that a young man was singing Johnny Cash songs this Saturday night, so we decided to make a reservation. And we did. Tonight was the night. We did a better job of ordering this time. The entertainment was supposed to start at 7:30 so we arrived early in order to get our food early. Plus we like to walk at least one way during the daylight to make things easier for me walking. First we ordered bruscuita. after we finished it we ordered tuna tartar and soon followed with two caprice salads that we divided. We had several different kinds of appetizers so we did not getting full before the pizza. Finally we ordered three different pizzas, which arrived after the singing had started, which was perfect because we could eat in the dark while the young man sang. The food was delicious, once again and we only brought home two pices of pizza to bring home. The young man who entertained us hails from Edmonton, Alberta. He worked hard and sang lots and lots of Cash tunes, most of which we did not know. We enjoyed our evening but I came away with two main themes. The first was singing in tune. The young man could sing in tune in his mid range but was hopeless up high or down low. I wondered if he knew he could not sing in tune. The second these was that Johnny Cash recorded many songs that never became popular. Most of the songs he sang tonight I had never heard before. And we left before he finished. Enough is enough. We enjoyed the evening. The place was lovely, dining outside and the food was top drawer. But I did wish that he could sing in tune.
