February 23, 2022. Playa Royale, Nuevo Vallarta. La Isla.

Tonight we ate our last restaurant supper at our favorite little restaurant just down the road. It sets right beside the road. Every table is out of doors. Even the kitchen. The little lady who owns it started out selling tacos for $!.per taco with just a few tables and chairs. But every year she made improvements. First she installed a blue tarp to shade the sitting area. One year she installed a toilet out the back. Next year came the shower curtain for a door followed a couple of years with actual doors. The whole little place now is charming. And fortunately they have been busy. This year a cage with two parrots added to the decor. And tonight for the first time we were entertained by a young lady singing in Spanish. The parrots did not squack once while she was singing. And the owner has added more staff. In years past, the food was always slow to coming to the table. But not now. The place has become efficient. The food was always good and tonights dinner did not disappoint. Our food was delicious. As always the owner stopped by to say hello. I always enjoy watching a successful operation and La Isla certainly fits the bill. Now we five hope that she will continue her pattern of always getting a bit better. But the most important thing is we hope she will still be in business next year. This little place is a winner.
