There are many birds here in Mexico, but unfortunately, most of them I can not identify. It is sad but true. This afternoon while sitting overlooking the canal we could see at least twenty brown pelicans roosting in the trees on the opposite side of the canal. There were probably many more but without our binoculars, that is what we could see with our naked eyes. And we saw several small blue herons. The smaller the birds get, the less I can identify these small birds. Where is Alice Anne when I need her?
And we saw many iguanas with orange crest all down his back. The big Daddy sat in the sun at the top of the rocks overseeing his harem. We watched fishermen trying to catch fish using a net and we watched an attempt at a rescue of a pelican with a broken wing. We intended to enjoy a leisurely lovely lunch at an Italian restaurant which we did, but in addition, we watched an afternoon of observing the natural world in action. The food was wonderful and so was the scenery.
