January 7, 2013. Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. Breakfast.

We have a new food plan.   For this visit, we will live as the Europeans do, which is, to shop for food every day.   Ken decided on this plan.  The advantages are two.  First,  we take a short walk every day to the market.  The second is that we don't leave a bunch of food left over when we leave at the end of our stay.   The disadvantage is looking at an empty fridge and freezer to say nothing of the pantry.  I will see how long it lasts.

At the mall this morning we ate breakfast/brunch at the Mexican restaurant.  We both ordered from a  "Very Mexican" section.   Ken ate his whole platter and said that it was great.   I could not tell what actually was in it but I could see scrambled eggs and ham and cheese, all put together in some fancy way.  I ordered a fruit plate and Molletes, which were great.  Sounds awful but it is french bread cut in half and toasted, then smothered with beans and melted cheese.   It was a wonderful brunch along with coffee and fruit.  Also,  I had left overs to snack for tonight.  And we did not go near the market.

The third advantage is perhaps the most important one.   As we have no food in the house, there is nothing to eat for a snack, so perhaps I will get thin.  That must be what Ken is after!!
