January 15, 2013. Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The Beach.

Beaches are interesting and compelling.   And it is always changing.  This afternoon, Ken and I went for a walk on the beach.  It took us ten days of living here to get us down to the beach, perhaps because the beach is a place I really don't like to walk.  In fact, I hate walking on the beach.   It is not level, which throws off your hips.  But today I went and enjoyed every minute.

After our walk, we sat at the restaurant on the edge of the beach and had a drink and watched the action.   The birds were busy feeding along the edge.  Lots of birds.  And we watched the parade of people, walking up and down, up and down.  Dogs being walked too.  There is do doubt that being thin on the beach is the best.   We just missed the dolphins leaping around very close to the shore.   The waiter told us.

A group here watches carefully to try to be sure the turtles get back to the water when they hatch.   In a large area the eggs are watched every evening.  It is very impressive.
