May 10, 2016. Madison, Mississippi. Tuesdays.

Tuesdays are pleasant for me in Mississippi.  Elizabeth arrives around 10:00 to clean our house.  She is everything you want in a cleaning person.  She is quiet and fastidious in her own person.  And she loves her job.  She is so exacting in her cleaning habits that she can not clean both floors on the same day because it takes too long.  And she likes us too, so it is a pleasure having her in the house.   When she leaves after 5 hours here you can tell that the house is clean, at least it is in the parts of the house that she cleaned.

At 1:30, Lourdes comes to cook.   Soon wonderful smells come from the kitchen.  She arrives with groceries and starts  cooking what she brought.  By the time she is ready to leave, three hours later,  she sets out  tupper wear containers beside the fridge waiting to be cooled so I can put them away.  Then all the rest of the week we devour her cooking.  Every day we are grateful for her efforts.  Her food is good.   In addition, she prepares healthy food so her task is to be sure we eat properly so we can get and keep  well.  She is a wonderful soul who wants to help us and she knows we need help.

Elizabeth and Lourdes know each other.  The husbands, John and Chantes have been referring people to each other for ages  so we are really one family group.  John was our mover who referred us to Elizabeth to clean and Elizabeth referred us to Chantes when we needed a person to fix our locks.  Then one day I asked Chantes if his wife was a good cook and he said yes.  I asked if she would consider cooking for us.  One thing led to another.  Now she comes once a week on Tuesday afternoons, just after Elizabeth has cleaned the kitchen.  My Tuesdays are pure delight.
