May 21, 2016. Madison, Mississippi. The Truck.

Now the truck is running perfectly well.   But we probably did not need to replace the two expensive catalytic converters.  We did as we were told at Gateway yesterday and went to Delta Muffler first thing this morning.   And they replaced our catalytic converter mufflers.  Unfortunately, after the job was done, the truck had the same problem plus the engine light went on, which had not been there before so the mechanic using a fancy machine determined that the third spark plug was misfiring every so often.  He wrote it down for us and sent us back to Gateway who had checked it over yesterday.

The good part of the morning was the conversation Ken had with the owner of Delta Muffler,  who also has Parkinsons Disease.   Bob has the shakes in one arm while Ken has lack of balance.  So they chatted for ages about how to deal with the disease.  Perhaps the conversation was worth paying for the mufflers.  It was certainly interesting and enjoyable.  They both use the same medication.

So back we went to Gateway.  While they were checking out the truck, we walked around the corner to the Chinese restaurant, except rather than walking on the roadside, we went between and behind the buildings which was not easy but was fun.  Great lunch and as we were walking back we got the call that the truck was fixed.  And yesterday and today Gateway did not charge us at all.   The truck should now be ready to drive to Texas in June but we thought it was ready last week too.  You just never know what will be next.
