Babalu is a favorite restaurant of Christina so we celebrated there for her birthday this morning for our family Brunch. While we were there, several other tables were given sparkles, stuck out of a bottle, all celebrating a birthday of a child. Kate and Mary Frances had told the hostess that we were celebrating their Mother's birthday, so we wondered if we would get the sparkle treatment. Sure enough, with dessert came the bottle of sparkles. We all loved it but Molly loved it best. Our celebration was complete.
Babalu is a restaurant in Fondren, a neighborhood in Jackson. Even though we live in Madison, the drive is easy, about 20 minutes. Andrew always joked that any place in Jackson takes 15 minutes, which from their home would be true but from our home it takes 20. But the traffic is light. Fondren is a funky little place full of restaurants, churches, antique stores and art galleries. We like the variety. We certainly all enjoyed the festivities today, celebrating Christina's birthday. I even remembered to give her a present.
