April 1, 2017. Madison, Mississippi. The Musicale.

Imagine your talented friends and relatives are asked to your home to sing and play.  Then you invite other friends and relatives to come and hear the music.  In addition, goodies are set out on the dining table before and after the concert.  This adds up to a spectacular musical experience at the home of Eleanor and Jim, their third Musicale but the first one for us.  In the past we were out of town.   The evening was quite remarkable.  Amazing really.

Several things impressed me. The quality of the musicians was high.  We had singers and guitar players, one violin player and three playing the piano, ten items in all.  The organization was impressive.  The tables were set up in the living room, library and dining room.  And the goodies set out on the dining table were delicious.  Many many people had come for the Musical, by rough count around 100.  In total, the evening was impressive.   It makes me think we should all be holding musical events in our homes.  Being so close to the musicians was delightful.  I was thrilled with the whole evening.  Now I look forward to the next one.
