May 24, 2021. San Antonio, Texas. Covid and Canada.

Sunday was a lazy day. David and I watched part of the golf tournament with thousands of fans in attendance and held in South Carolina on the shore. Phil won which was fun to watch. Next we watched a bit of a hockey game held in Washington, DC between the Caps and the Bruins. Again, the fans were noisy and enthusiastic. Then we watched some basketball, this game held in New York City with perhaps the arena over half full. So three sporting events in three different locations that seemed more normal with thousands of fans enjoying the games. Then we turned on a hockey game between Winnipeg and Edmonton with not a fan in sight. Suzanne wanted to know why the Canadian fans could not attend the game. I had no answer. All I know is that Canada is not a third world country and yet they are far behind the curve with Covid. It is discouraging for the Canadians who are used to haveing an efficient system. San Antonio has only 13% of the population not yet fully vaccinated. Biden has given billions of vials of the vaccine to other countries, including China, yet Canada is till short because, according to my friend Mary, the Prime Minister never asked. I hope the Canadian authorities get their act together soon. Canadians deserve better.
