One of the great pleasures of Living in the condo at Playa Royale is watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean. Each sunset is different so we never know what will happen next with the sunset. But we always watch it even though sometimes we do not see much of a sunset.
So far we have watched two sunsets and both were not spectacular. In fact you could say that all we could see was a rosy glow. There was a thick bank of dark clouds on the horizon which we could not see, until the sun snuck behind the dark clouds. We could see one hole in the cloud cover when we could see the sun peeking through but that was the last we saw of the sun, either last night or tonight.
But a few minutes after the sun had disappeared, we began to a rosy glow that eventually covered the sky over the dark cloud. Last evening it was more beautiful than tonights glow but both were worth watching. Then the sky gets dark. Less than 45 minutes after sunset, the sky is black and we can see Venus. There is no twilight. And that is life in the south and the tropics. First we enjoy the sunset and then we are eating on the balcony in the dark. Interesting but true.
Tomorrow we will hope for a more spectacular sunset. Hope springs eternal.
