July 2, 2023. Western Head, Nova Scotia. An Excursion With David.

I have driven the same routs innumerable times, but I never tire routs.  Today David took us on a drive to Lunenburg along the shore road, up the Lahave River, across on the ferry and then via back roads to Lunenburg.  The drive is lovely, perhaps the best in Nova Scotia.  We drove in my truck because David's car is not yet fixed.  David drove.  Chris sat in the front seat .  I sat in the rear half seat and to my surprise I was comfortable.  The drive was beautiful, as it always is but unfortunately we had a foggy day.  From the golf course across from Lunenburg, we could not even see the town, let alone the gaily pained houses.

Lunenburg was crowded.  Really crowded.  We drove around for a parking spot but when we finally parked and started checking out the restaurants, we discovered that all had a waiting list.  And this was almost 2:00.  So we went back to the truck and headed right to Highway 103.  We stopped to eat at the Swiss Chalet, in Bridgewater, which we enjoyed.  No crowds.  Good service.  The same chicken.  Chris had never even heard of the Swiss Chalet, so this was another introduction to a Canadian icon.  Finally we got hame late in the late afternoon.  Our day was lovely.  Hats off to David.
