September 15, 2023. Western Head, Nova Scotia. Surfers.

The surfers were out at the beginning of day light today.  And they stuck at it all day.  They are a resilient group.  By 6:30, four surfers wee in the water.  Bt noon there were 11.  By six there were five.  Of course, we have no idea who there are because they all look the same with their black wet suits.  They actually look like seals, until they stand up.

The big difference through the day was the size of the waves.  By nightfall, the waves were high and noisy.   The surfers are hoping that the storm is far enough away that they will be able to surf.  If the storm is too close, the waves are dangerous so they must get out of the water.  This summer has been a bust for the surfers, until recently.  Now the surf is high and the surfers are happy, especially with the weekend ahead of them.  Several of our local surfers are teachers so they are happy for the weekend.

But no matter happens, we have a front seat view of the storm, projected to hit tomorrow.  It will be spectacular.
