Our outing was interesting. Our first plan was to go to the Quarterdeck for a late lunch. But first we had to master the truck. So far, Carolyn had not drive my old truck but before she could drive, she was required to get into the truck which is not easy. My old truck has no running board so the first step is a big one. Carolyn is short and is 89 so not sprightly. The first three attempts were not successful so she went inside to get the little blue stool. But we could not figure out how to get the stool back into the truck so on the next try, and with some hints from me, she got in. And we were ready to go.
But first she had to adjust the seat and figure out the controls but soon we were on the way to the Quarterdeck. But when we got there just before 2, the door was closed. And the lady came to the door to tell us that they had run out of food so they were closed until 4:30. I had just told Carolyn that they kept open all afternoon. But not today. So we drove down to the Seascape restaurant but the still only take carry out dinners. Bummer.
So we went back up the road to the Seafood Restaurant, who advertises as the worlds best clams. Carolyn ate lobster and I ate fried clams and fish along with chips., certainly not I would order at the Quarterdeck. But it was delicious I always eat fish and chips at least once in Nova Scotia and now I have done it fried clams along with fish and chips. Finally we ate our late lunch but much later than anticipated. And Carolyn never did get to dine at the Quarterdeck. But we enjoyed our outing.
