May 7, 2017. Madison, Mississippi. Odds and Ends.

Ken and I have booked our river cruise down the Mississippi River, leaving from St. Paul October 9, 2018  and ending 15 days later in New Orleans.  All being well, we hope to fly to Hamilton September 20 and attend Katey and Brock's wedding September 22.  We are excited.

Gill leaves Nova Scotia for Florence, Italy,  May 12.  For a month she will be taking a course on the Renaissance.  She will also spend a long weekend in Venice and another long weekend in Rome.  Great trip.  She will love it.

Today I talked on the phone for ages with my friend Phyllis.  I was delighted to hear her voice and find that they are both well.  Freddie turned 81 today.  They are busily planning more trips, one to the Pacific Northwest.  It was a great pleasure sitting on the deck all by myself chatting away with Phyllis.  We miss them.  Mid June they go to Switzerland for the summer.

This morning at 11:15, we met Christina and the girls at Table 100, a lovely restaurant in Flowood.  Over a year ago we had brunch there but had forgotten it until Kate suggested we try it again.  None of us could recall what we ate the last time so perhaps it was 2 years ago.  My memory of the restaurant was the white linen table cloths.  Today the food was excellent and the place was full.  People have discovered it.  As usual, we had a wonderful time.  Mary Frances has a few more exams before she will be finished for the season.  Next Sunday is Mother's Day.  To avoid the crowds , we will eat lunch at our house.  Christina will order ahead and pick up Chinese food.  And that will be our last brunch for the season.  We leave for Texas May 21.
