No American flags were flying here in Nova Scotia, but we celebrated anyway, eating hot dogs and hamburgers at the cottage and raising the Canadian flag up the flagpole. It was a perfect way to celebrate Independence Day.
This was a first time to visit the cottage this year so Ken and I arrived early to set up the remaining furniture and to put away the food stuffs for the season. Andrew brought all the boats down to the beach and set up the tables. The weather was perfect. All morning the sun was shining but by mid afternoon the clouds came out so no one got sun burned, which is a blessing.
Even the water was pleasant, which was a surprise to me. It usually feels cold. The girls were in and out of the water and the boats all day. Christina even went swimming. We ate both lunch and dinner at the cottage, finally getting home by 8:00. it was a lovely day indeed.
