July 12, 2016. Newark, New Jersey. The Easy Way.

Now that we are old, we  are finding easier ways to get things done.  When we lived in Maryland, we drove to Nova Scotia for the summer.   When I retired, we stayed a few weeks at the farm after we drove from Texas.  But when we sold the farm, we began flying.  Now we make life even easier when we fly to Newark and stay overnight at the Airport Marriott Hotel.  The shuttle picks us up at the airport and after checking into our room at 1:00, we immediately have a snack at the concierge level before taking a lovely long nap.

After reading a bit, we return to the concierge lounge for dinner.  Their appetizers are ample for our dinner.   Our room is lovely, overlooking the airport.  Tomorrow we will continue our journey to Nova Scotia where Mr. Gaskell will pick us up at 11:30, well rested and ready for the summer.  It has taken us a while to get smart and make our lives easier but this journey gives us a lovely small break in Newark.  This is the second year in a row we have used this drill.  We have decided that the plan is good.
