July 19, 2016. Western Head, Nova Scotia. The Game.

Christina, Kate, Mary Frances and Molly were playing a game on the living room coffee table.  Ken and I were watching.  The game played was Liar.  The game is fun for the sophisticated as well as the naive and we were all having lots of fun.  Our dinner time was late so after chatting a bit in the living room and playing the game, the evening was late.

The good part of the game is that the rounds go quickly.  Well into the game, Christina won a round.  When 8 year old Molly discovered that Christina had won, she said, " Well dammit".   For 5 seconds, all was quiet as this is not a swearing family,  but I looked across the table at Kate and we could not contain our giggles.  Soon we were were all laughing uproariously, including Molly.   But soon Molly figured out that we were laughing at her and her laughter turned to tears.  Even when Christina took Molly to explain to Molly why we were laughing we kept laughing.  Molly's comment was totally appropriate , but how did she learn this language?  It was very funny.  The game ended and Molly went to bed as did the rest of us.  You just do not know what comes out of the mouths of babes.
