May 17, 2022. Halifax, Nova Scotia. Fog.

Ever since we left Portland we have been in fog. Bar Harbor fog was so thick that the internet would not work, and ever since, we have been in the thick of it. This has been a shame bacause the folks on the ship could not really see Lunenburg at all. Today, one of the excursions this morning was to Peggy's Cove. But of course, it was raining and foggy so they could see very little of the cove and they barely could see the lighthouse. People were disappointed. We are docked but I can barely see the dock just across from me. I elected to stay on the ship. Walking in the rain and fog did not seem wise. Three new friends who hve dined with us severak times were first signed up for the same cruise in 2021 for the Fall. When they called to set up the cruise for 2022, someone suggested that they might prefer the May cruise because they were told that the flowers would be better. So far they have almost not been able to see land, let alone flowers. Who ever gave them that advice was wrong. The weather is much better in late Sptember. They are hopeful that the sun will shine in the St. Lawrence Seaway. We will see. No one suggested to them that Nova Scotia was foggy in May. David and I of course are just ignoring the weather. David continues walking around the towns and I just stay on the boat. All is well with us. We know fog.
