May 8, 2022. Madison, Mississippi. Mother's Day Brunch.

Christina and I knew that all the fancy restaurants would be full because everyone wants to go out for brunch on Mother's Day. So we selected Sal&Phils, which has wonderful food but is definately not fancy. They serves seafood, New Orleans style. They open at 11:00 so we decided to get there right when they open. We had no trouble finding a table for 6 but an hour later, they had a waiting list so we did well by going early. Our brunch today was the last hurrah, celebrating Mary Frances and her graduation. We wwre still in a festive mood so we had a lot of fun. First we ordered 3 dozen oysters. Then Molly and David ordered another dozen. It was a speed contest and Molly won. She ate 8 before David could eat 4. David peeled shrimp , a whole pound while I ate a bowl of gumbo, my last gumbo before Nova Scotia where the food is not a bit spicy. So we enjoyed our Mother's Days brunch with good food and excellent company. I feel very grateful that David and Suzanne came for the graduation. And of course, I was delighted to see them too. Our weekend was wonderful.
