August 10, 2022. Western Head, Nova Scotia. Dinner at Home.

The only two things I did for a dinner party at home was  to invite the guests and then to call the caterers that we would be 5 for dinner tonight.  I did them both well.  Clausen and Wendy came to dinner tonight at 6:30 and the caterer sent more than enough food for five.  Everything else tonight was done by Mal and Pat.  The whole thing did not seem quite fair.

But we had a good time.  In years past, we ate in each others homes all the time bust since we are old, we seldom dine together.  And of course, Pat and Mal wanted to take more time visiting with Wendy and Clausen, who they have been seeing for the past 20 years.  Mal is used to heat and organize the food, which he did tonight again.  Wendy helped serve the plates while Pat had already set the table.  And both Pat and Mal cleaned up the kitchen.  I offered to help but my efforts were declined.  The kitchen is too full with three, was the response.  So I cheered.  And eat a delicious dinner of roast beef.
