One of the great pleasures of living in Mexico in the winter is eating dinner out side. And you do not even feel chilly. Last evening we 7 enjoyed a delightful dinner sitting beside the canal at the Porto Bello restaurant, which is on the other side of the canal. Alana could only stay with us for a short time before returning to her studies at McMaster University so we celebrated her visit. The five of them had seen the release of the turtles, then took a cab to the restaurant, all five of them in one small taxi. Ken and I had taken our own just ahead of them. Katy sat on Wendy's lap with the four of them jammed into the small back seat.
Last year, there were two excellent restaurants side by side, one a steak house and the other the Italian. But when we arrived to decide where we should eat, we discovered that the steak house had closed in October of 2016. I felt sorry they had closed but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Porto Bello. Our dinner was fun and festive. And we loved dining out in the fresh air. But we took a van to bring us all home. Today Alana took a flight to return to Toronto. We sent her off in fine style with our wonderful dinner. And Wendy paid the bill.
