March 18, 2021. Madison, Mississippi. Vaccination.
Mississippi has done a good job with getting the vacinations to the people. Over a million and a quarter people so far and this is with a small populations. When the vacine was first available, people had trouble finding places to get their shots. Katey and Nelson drove to a small town in order to get an appointment and Linda waited 50 minutes to get her shot. But this is not happening now. You have many options to make an appointment. All you do is look up the web site where you can find every place in Mississippi that gives the medication. When you select the place closest to home, you then look for available times. If the closest place to you has no openings, you just go to the next. The vacine is given in many places, including the grogery store pharmacy and the fairgrounds.
I have been here for one week. In Mexico, only permanent residents of Mexico could get the shot. Now I have an appointment next Tuesday at Krogers grocery store pharmacy at 8:45. My second shot is scheduled in three weeks. This was all done and verified using the internet. The whole thing was impressive. Like every other places, the system allows people to get the shots at a time approved by your age. Here they are inoculating the people in their 20s. Most people I know have gotten vaccinated. Progress indeed. People here in Mississippi are still using masks in congested areas but they are not required. It is left to the good sense of each individual. We are beginning to become normal!!
