January 16, 2022. Playa Royale, Nuevo Vallarta. Christmas in January.

For Christmas, Wendy gave Kenny and Anne a gift to be given to them in Mexico. She did not want them to have to carry a gift back to Vancouver with them. Instead she would take them out for a meal in Nuevo Vallarta. I thought it was a splendid idea, especially when she took all five of us for brunch today. Two weeks ago, the day after we three had arrived, we went to La Isla for brunch, which we enjoyed enormously. We repeated the meal today, but now we were five. La Isla is our favorite restaurant. We can easily walk. And the place is outside although there is a roof made of palm fronds to keep out the sun. The restaurant is right beside the road. The place has only 10 tables. The kitchen is open to the rest of the restaurant so if you are inclined, you can watch the lady cook. Everything is made from scratch so you must be prepared to be patient. But when the food arrives, you realize that it was worth the wait. The food is delicious and very Mexican. Our meals were delicious. We were delighted to share in this gift to Kenny and Anne. It was a splendid idea at Christmas and an even better idea today. I loveed this Christmas in January gift.
