July 12, 2022. Western Head, Nova Scotia. The Big Fire.

David likes building big fires.   Right now, the crew is down by his big fire, keeping warm on a chilly evening.  David built the fire late this afternoon.  And he flew a kite.  He used the wheelbarrow to carry the wood down to the fire and he also burnt up the old benches.  After sitting around the living room eating dessert after dinner, Suzanne persuaded him to build up the fire.  And he did.  Everyone is wearing fleece jackets from the closet.  And they are having fun.

Today they went into town.  They checked out the lighthouse and went to the grocery store.  Then came home to take a walk while David make the fire.  They are all settled into their spots.  Now they just need to enjoy themselves.  Texas has over 100 degrees today do they are loving the cool daytime temperature of 64.    Wade and Bonnie could not come due to Covid.  And the E's intended to bring their 2 daughters but they discovered a few days ago that one had never been vaccinated so she could not enter Canada.  So we have a smaller group than expected.  Now we are five.

David hopes he has enough wood.  He does love those big fires.  I can see them from my bedroom, all standing around the fire trying to keep warm.  It is a lovely scene.  I am delighted to have them here.
