JULY 19, 2022. Western Head, Nova Scotia. The Fire Pit.

Our fire pit at our Nova Scotia home must be one of the all time best location for a fire.  It sets not far from the ocean so when you are sitting by the fire you can hear loud and clear the waves hitting the shore. Just the other side of the fire is a deck with chairs so when you sit by the fire on the deck you can see and hear the ocean, yet you are sitting on a level deck.   There is a large grass area all along the shore so the children can play if they do not wish to sit by the fire.  It really is a spectacular location for a fire.

And of course, we have had many many fires over the years.  After dinner, all the young people head down to the fire, the one that was started before dinner.   David would build up the fire while everyone gathers.  All ages are welcome except the elder folks generally do not join in the fun.  And they do have fun.  I can hear the laughter and the hoots.  Sometimes silly nursery games were played to great hilarity.  Everyone joins in the fun.

Now David has enough wood left over from this seasons fires that he will be able to build many more fires the next time they are here.  Everyone will look forward to the next season of fires at Western Head, down by the water.
