David N. came over this early to spend time with Christina and the girls. He had met them many years ago but the girls have changed. He brought his new dog . And he brought all the fixings for strawberry short cake. The dog is new to David, whose name is Maggie and is a good dog. She never strayed off the deck. And he brought a quart of the local strawberries along with cake and whipped cream. Pretty nice.
Local strawberries are about the size of the end of your thumb. They are succulent and juicy. And delicious. They are not even close to the large strawberries we buy at the grocery store. So we had a treat with a bowl full of ice cream, strawberries, cake and whipped cream. We enjoyed meeting his new dog. But we really did enjoy the short cake. Of course we enjoyed seeing David but that strawberry shortcake really hit the spot. These delicious strawberries are delicious.
