Today the Texans took a fishing trip. David, Suzanne, Debbie, Heath and Harper went on an excursion with our friend Mike Swim, who is a lobsterman. He was kind enough to take them out on his big lobster boat. Mike's wife, Anne, came too along with his two sons. As a fishing trip it was a failure. They caught only one seagull and one piece of a broken chair. But as a bout ride excursion, it was a big success.
The met Mike at 1:00 in Port Mauton dock. For an hour, they headed right out to sea so they could almost not see the shore. And they all fished but got nary a nibble but they all talked, watched dolphins and the Texans kept putting on layers of clothing to try to keep warm. Just after 6:00 Suzanne texted me to look outside, as Mike had driven them right in front of our row of houses. I waved from the deck. By the time they got off the boat they were famished so ate dinner at The Quarterdeck Restaurant, where they reported good food and excellent service.
Of course, I wanted a blow by blow description of the day, which by all accounts was lots of fun. So as a fishing trip it was not a great success but as a day on the water, in the lobster boat, it was a triumph. Most importantly, they enjoyed the time with Mike and Anne.
