September 15, 2022. Western Head, Nova Scotia. Cocktails at Gill's.

Our summer here in Nova Scotia is coming to a close so Gill took the occasion to invite our group for a cocktail party at her house.  The early evening was glorious so we sat on her deck enjoying the sun and the breeze and enjoying the sea and clouds.  Gill is a generous hostess so e ate our fill of wonderful goodies, such as shrimp, smoked salmon, olives, cheese and oodles of raw vegetables.  We have summered here together for over twenty years so being together was worth celebrating.

Then we moved inside and I was remembering again what a great job did with her home.  She designed her own home and it is beautiful.  Her main room is perfect for a party.  She has just one room, with the kitchen, dining room and living room all open, with windows across the front looking at the sea.  She sets high enough off the water that when you sit in a chair, you can see the waves crashing into her rocks.  Her view is magnificent, the best of all our houses.  So we talked and we talked and we enjoyed each others company, which of course was the purpose for the party.

Hats off to Gill for building such a wonderful house and for going to all the work to prepare our goodies.  I enjoyed every minute from the time Wendy and Clausen picked me up at 4:30 until they brought me home at 8:00.  Our venture in Nova Scotia has been a great success and tonight we celebrated in style.
