Finally, The Stanley Cup was awarded to the Los Vegass Golden Knights. The final game was easy to watch because there was never iin drought as to who was going to win. And it was a pleasure watching a team play at their peak with every team member playing their part properly. Every aspect of the game was at the highest level. I really enjoyed watching the game played well by the Golden Knights.
But what I enjoyed even better was watching the rink after the game. I loved watching as one by one the players hoisted the cup while they skated around the ice. Next all the coaches and trainers did the same. Next the wives and children were invited onto the ice so the players and their families had pictures with the cup. Everyone was so happy and joyful. I had fun just watching them.
The big question is ask why the Golden Knights have been to the finals twice in the last 6 years while traditional teams such as the Maple Leafs and the Oilers have not played in a final for many years. What made the difference? More people than me are trying to figure it out. Now each player from the winning team gets to spend a day with the cup, doing whatever they want to do. Most visit their home town and visiting home team players. Everyone loves that. Once the cup got lost for a few hours so now a man always stays with the cup. But it is fun for all the players. Great tradition. Good series. And great win for the Golden Knights.
